20.1	17	A softphone is a software-based phone that lets you make and receive phone calls using your computer, tablet, or smartphone (VIA our [[Noixa>>doc:Main.Noixa.WebHome]] app) instead of a physical desk phone. It connects to Axion systems over the internet and functions just like a traditional office phone.

33.1	34	A User represents a real person who uses the phone system. A user is usually linked to one or more extensions and is what allows someone to log in and manage their own phone features (//if you have privileges to do so//).

	40	* Managing call forwarding, call recordings, reports and other personal settings

	43	Think of a User as the “profile” for a person, while the extension is the phone number they use.

	45	A User does not control call routing by itself. It simply defines who the person is and what features they’re allowed to access.

31.1	49	In order to use the softphone you have to have a few things set up in the Customer Portal. First you will need a user account created and in order to do that we will need an email address to send the verification/account set up email to. 32.1	53	Are a way to put users (extensions) into simple groups so they’re easier to manage. Instead of setting options for each user one at a time, you can change settings for the group and everyone in that group gets the same access.
